Another week of learning and hands-on experience on various platforms , I here with Continue to share my learning with blogs and my journey with ifour. The week was full of activities/tasks to explore more on my subject, Twitter and find various ways a company can use it to defend the actions of competitors or erode there will to defend the attacks.SEO is something which is new,so to start with,I decided to discuss this with our campaign team and team at iFour, who are one of the best people in the industry to have some insight on SEO.

Based on the discussion, let me share something about SEO (search engine optimization)

SEO is a technique which helps search engines find and rank your site higher than the millions of other sites in response to a search query. SEO thus helps you get traffic from search engines.

For example-
Whenever you enter a query in a search engine and hit 'enter' you get a list of web results that contain that query term. Users normally tend to visit websites that are at the top of this list as they perceive those to be more relevant to the query. If you have ever wondered why some of these websites rank better than the others then you must know that it is because of a powerful web marketing technique called SEO.

Twitter can be used directly to build up links and use it for SEO and can be used by companies providing e-commerce solutions and specializing in magento customization.

Surprisingly, they are very straight forward to use and have been consistently used by advertisers and promoters to tap the potential audience.
Below are some of the tips to improve your SEO through twitter-

1.Choose a good username- Be sure to pick an username that’s relevant to your brand or campaign and easy to remember. Also long usernames are not desired as they pose problem during tweets.
Your Username  becomes part of your customized Twitter URL such as twitter username for iFour is https://twitter.com/consultifour. Here username is consultifour.

2.Select related account name - Select an account name which reflects your brand. The account name appears next to profile, which could be different than your username. You obviously want an account name that promotes yourself, your company or your brand.

3.Focus on your Bio - Make sure you take the advantage of 160 characters space provided and include keywords and mission statements of your company/yourself.Your bio is consistently indexed so its contents are what provide your Twitter page with its core relevance.

4.Use Keywords - Strategically include keywords in the content of your Tweets, you'll be gaining maximum SEO for your Twitter efforts.
What are your ideal customers and followers searching for on Twitter that you want to be found for?  Include those words as hashtags in your Tweets. Also think about the phrases you use often in your niche – those are worth including in your Twitter content as well.
Example-If your keyword is Mobile app development, then link it with company URL in tweet.

5.Tweet Smarter-  Tweet at the right time and place for your Tweet to stand out and be relevant. You can analyze your past Twitter data to find out when your Tweets typically get the most engagement, via replies, favorites or shares.Write keyword-rich tweets if possible.

6.Give them what they want- When providing  links or any other URLs, make sure the redirection leads to pages which provide a richer content experience. Twitter users are hungry for information and accustomed to getting it “right now.” Send users directly to the details instead of having them fish around for it.

Initially focusing on the above activities will give us some hand-on experience and exposure to twitter. With 500 Million total users and 140 Million active users from different age groups the platform produces more than 250 million tweets per day.
So,there is a huge potential for business and start ups.
